Cache County has a progressive and diverse business environment from agriculture, education, manufacturing, tourism, healthcare, and many other industries. In 2007 Cache Counties labor force was approximately 60,000 and today is closing in on 70,000.

Cache County's unemployment rate has stayed steady at around 5% during the economic recession compared to Utah's jobless rate at 7.2%. New jobs were created at a 3.8 percent through the first quarter of 2008.

Cache Counties largest employers include Utah State University with over 6,000 jobs, in second is Icon Health & Fitness, followed by the Cache County School District.

Based on these numbers the Government is the highest employer in the county accounting for 23% of of all jobs. Manufacturing is the second largest industry supplying 21% with trade, transportation, and the utilities sector accounting for another 15% of all jobs.
